SUNDAY'S
CHILD: Heirlooms from
the Embroiderers Guild - until Sunday 18th July . This display has been orrganised
to coincide with the Victorian Embroiderers’ Guild’s 50th Jubilee celebrations and features a selection of christening gowns, infants’ dresses and bonnets from the 1850s
to 1930 drawn from the
Guild’s rich collection. The exhibition highlights the diversity of
embroidery techniques, including drawn-thread work, broderie anglaise and
satin stitch.
MCCUBBIN EXHIBITION - The first comprehensive Frederick McCubbin (Heidelberg school of paintings) exhibition in 18 years opened at the art gallery 24 April and is taking Bendigo by storm. The exhibition, which is exclusive to Victoria is proudly sponsored by the ABC corporation, and runs till 25 July and concentrates on the last 11 years when McCubbin produced his most vibrant works. We have a pamphlet at reception. Why not take advantage of our "Getaway" 2-night stay for 2 people?
